We serve authentic German and East Berlin cuisine all day long: from breakfast to dinner, from currywurst to pork knuckle, from Old Berlin to New Cuisine.
Our lovingly and unusually designed restaurant in the immediate vicinity of the television tower at Alexanderplatz and Museum Island offers a unique ambience with genuine Berlin flair in Berlin’s oldest district.

Locals or tourists, families or colleagues – the Wilde Matilde is a culinary experience with Berlin tradition and conviviality for everyone, including groups and events of all kinds. With our in-house patisserie, we spoil our guests with cakes, tarts and chocolates as well as ice cream sundaes with waffles and cream.
When the weather is nice, our fantastic summer terrace with a view of Berlin’s sights is open.
Breakfast à la Berlin
The day begins with a tribute to Berlin. From hearty snacks such as “Der Hauptmann von Köpenick” to healthy starters to the day and a sumptuous gourmet étagère for two, breakfast at Wilde Matilde is a culinary experience in itself.
Lunch in Central Berlin
At lunchtime, we serve light and hearty dishes for small and large appetites, such as the absolute classic from East Berlin cuisine: GDR solyanka made according to the original recipe.
Matilde was out in the garden and set the table with tasty lucky child salads or vegetable sticks, a dream for every vegetarian heart.
For those with a big appetite, we serve hearty Berlin dishes such as original GDR “Jägerschnitzel” with spirelli pastat in tomato sauce, schnitzel or “Königsberger Klopse”.
Dinner in a Historic Ambience
In the evening, the Blue Salon of the Wilde Matilde is bathed in an intoxicating backdrop of light. Our unique carousel bar, where cocktails are prepared, takes center stage.
Now the traditional dishes such as sweet and sour eggs, schnitzel, Berlin spare ribs or pub cult dishes such as a horse-drawn carriage platter unfold their full effect.
On Friday and Saturday, our unique Carousel Bar becomes a stage with the Berlin Variety Show. At a show dinner, you can enjoy a multi-course menu and experience the exciting story of the Wilde Matilde with breathtaking dance and circus acts, live music and entertainment.
